Dog Walking Booking Policy 


Booking & Scheduling 

  • All walks must be booked in advance. 

  • Bookings are confirmed only after you receive confirmation from us. 

  • Regular weekly slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

  • We recommend booking at least 24–48 hours in advance where possible. 

 

Meet & Greet 

  • A free initial meet-and-greet is required before the first walk. 

  • This helps us get to know your dog, discuss routines, behaviour, medical needs, and ensure we are a good fit. 

 

Access to Property 

  • Clients must provide safe access to the property for scheduled walks. 

  • Any key, lockbox, or alarm instructions must be accurate and kept up to date. 

  • Keys and personal information will be kept secure and confidential. 

 

Health & Behaviour 

  • Dogs must be up to date with vaccinations, flea treatment, and worming. 

  • Owners must inform us of any medical conditions, injuries, behavioural issues, or aggression concerns. 

  • We reserve the right to refuse walks for dogs displaying unsafe behaviour. 

 

Group Walks 

  • Compatible dogs may be walked together in small groups unless solo walks are requested. 

  • Dogs will be matched based on size, temperament, and energy level. 

 

Cancellations 

  • Cancellations with more than 24 hours’ notice: no charge. 

  • Cancellations within 24 hours of the booking will be charged at 50% of the walk fee. 

  • Same-day cancellations or missed appointments will be charged in full. 

 

Weather Policy 

  • Walks may be shortened, rescheduled, or adjusted during extreme weather conditions for the safety of the dogs. 

  • In severe weather, alternative enrichment or shorter toilet breaks may be offered. 

 

Emergencies 

  • In the event of illness or injury, we will attempt to contact the owner immediately. 

  • If emergency veterinary treatment is required, we may seek treatment in the dog’s best interests. 

  • Any veterinary costs remain the responsibility of the owner. 

 

Payments 

  • Payment is due in full at the time of booking for all one-off services.

  • For regular dog walking services, payments may be made in advance on a weekly, fortnightly, or monthly basis, as agreed at the time of booking.

  • Late or missed payments may result in services being suspended until payment has been received.

 

Photos & Updates 

  • We may send photo or text updates during or after walks. 

  • Photos may be used on social media or promotional material unless the owner requests otherwise. 

 

Liability 

  • While every care is taken, dog walking carries inherent risks. 

  • Owners remain responsible for any damage or injury caused by their dog unless due to proven negligence by us.

Photos & Social Media Consent 
During walks, we may occasionally take photos or videos of dogs for: 

  • Walk updates sent to owners  

  • Social media posts  

  • Website or promotional content  

 

No owner personal information or home addresses will ever be shared publicly. 

 

By using our services, you consent to photos and videos of your dog being taken and used for business marketing purposes unless you notify us in writing that you wish to opt out. 

 

Clients may withdraw photo/video consent at any time by contacting us directly. 

 

Puppy Policy 
Puppies under 12 months may require shorter or more frequent walks depending on age, breed, vaccinations, and energy levels. Owners must inform us of training routines, feeding schedules, toilet habits, and any ongoing behavioural or socialisation needs to ensure appropriate care. 

 

Holiday Bookings 
Holiday periods can become very busy, so advance booking is strongly recommended. A deposit may be required to secure bookings during peak periods such as Christmas, Easter, and summer holidays. 

 

Bank Holiday Surcharge 
Services booked on UK bank holidays may be subject to an additional surcharge. Clients will always be informed of any extra charges before confirming the booking. 

 

Off-Lead Permission 
Dogs will only be allowed off lead with written permission from the owner. Owners must confirm that their dog has reliable recall and is safe to be off lead around people, dogs, livestock, and traffic. We reserve the right to keep any dog on lead if we believe it is necessary for safety. 

 

Key Handling Agreement 
Any keys, fobs, or access codes provided to us will be stored securely and used solely for the purpose of providing agreed services. Keys will never be labelled with personal address information. Clients must inform us immediately if locks, alarm systems, or access arrangements change. 

 

Reactive or Behavioural Dogs 
We are happy to discuss walks for reactive or nervous dogs on a case-by-case basis. Owners must fully disclose any behavioural concerns including aggression, reactivity, anxiety, bite history, or triggers before services begin. For the safety of all dogs, people, and the public, we reserve the right to use additional control measures or decline services where appropriate. 
 
 
Overnight / Multi-Night In-Home Dog Sitting Policy (UK) 

 

1. Service Description 
Overnight dog sitting is a professional pet care service where the sitter stays overnight in the client’s home to care for their dog(s). Care includes feeding, walking, companionship, welfare monitoring, and basic household presence for security purposes. 
This service is provided on a short-term, ad-hoc basis and does not constitute tenancy or residence under UK housing law. 
 
2. Booking & Confirmation 

  • All bookings must be confirmed in writing (email, messaging app, or booking system). 

  • A meet and greet is required prior to the first booking unless otherwise agreed. 

  • Bookings are only confirmed once accepted by the sitter. 

  • The client must provide full and accurate information regarding the dog(s), household access, and care requirements. 

 
3. Access to Property 

  • Clients must provide secure access via key handover, coded entry, or lockbox. 

  • Keys will be stored securely and returned immediately after the booking unless otherwise agreed. 

  • The sitter is not responsible for failure of alarms, locks, or security systems where instructions provided are incorrect or incomplete. 

  • Any alarm system must be fully explained, including deactivation and activation procedures. 

 
4. Sitter Duties 
During overnight stays, the sitter will: 

  • Remain in the property overnight at agreed times (commonly evening to morning, unless otherwise agreed). 

  • Provide feeding and fresh water in line with client instructions. 

  • Administer medication only where written instructions are provided. 

  • Provide appropriate exercise, enrichment, and toileting breaks. 

  • Maintain cleanliness in relation to pet care (e.g. feeding areas, waste disposal). 

  • Carry out reasonable household tasks agreed in advance (e.g. putting bins out, collecting post). 

 
5. Animal Welfare Act Compliance 
The sitter will always act in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006, ensuring the five welfare needs are met: 

  • A suitable environment 

  • A suitable diet 

  • Ability to exhibit normal behaviour 

  • Appropriate companionship (or separation where required) 

  • Protection from pain, suffering, injury, and disease 

The sitter reserves the right to adjust care routines where necessary to safeguard welfare. 
 
6. Behaviour & Risk Disclosure 

  • The client must disclose any behavioural issues including aggression, separation anxiety, reactivity, or destructive behaviour. 

  • The sitter reserves the right to refuse or withdraw from care if a dog presents an unreasonable risk to safety. 

  • Any incidents involving biting, aggression, or escape attempts must be reported immediately. 

 
7. Veterinary Care & Emergencies 

  • The client must provide full veterinary details and emergency contact information. 

  • In an emergency, the sitter will attempt to contact the client and/or emergency contact. 

  • If necessary, the sitter is authorised to seek veterinary treatment under the direction of a veterinary surgeon. 

  • All veterinary costs remain the responsibility of the client. 

  • The sitter accepts no liability for illness, injury, or death arising from pre-existing conditions or unforeseen events. 

 
8. Insurance 

  • The sitter holds appropriate Public Liability Insurance for pet care services. 

  • Clients are encouraged to maintain suitable pet insurance covering veterinary treatment, illness, and third-party liability. 

 
9. Home Care & Conduct 

  • The sitter will treat the client’s home with reasonable care and respect. 

  • No visitors will be brought into the property without prior written consent. 

  • Smoking, alcohol consumption, and illegal substances are strictly prohibited within the client’s property during the booking period. 

  • The sitter will not use the property for purposes other than agreed pet care duties. 

 
10. Duration of Care 

  • Overnight care includes continuous overnight presence and agreed daytime routines. 

  • Any departure from the property during the booking must be agreed in advance. 

  • Additional visits, extended hours, or schedule changes may incur additional charges. 

 
11. Cancellations 

  • Cancellations made within 24 hours of the booking start date may be charged at up to the full fee. 

  • Deposits, where taken, may be non-refundable. 

  • The sitter reserves the right to apply reasonable cancellation fees to cover loss of income. 

 
12. Payment Terms 

  • Payment terms will be agreed prior to commencement of service. 

  • A non-refundable deposit is required to secure bookings. 

  • Full payment is due 1 week (7 days) prior to the booking start date. 

  • Late payments may incur additional charges under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where applicable. 

 
13. Liability 

  • The sitter will exercise reasonable skill and care in the provision of services. 

  • The sitter is not liable for: 

  • Loss or damage arising from pre-existing conditions of the animal 

  • Damage caused by the animal to the property 

  • Break-ins, theft, or property damage occurring during the booking 

  • Events outside reasonable control (force majeure) 

Nothing in this agreement excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence. 
 
14. Data Protection (UK GDPR) 

  • Client data will be stored securely and used only for service provision. 

  • Information will not be shared with third parties except where required for veterinary or emergency purposes. 

  • Data handling complies with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. 

 
15. Agreement 
By confirming a booking, the client acknowledges and agrees to these terms and conditions.
